Gortnamullan Cottage is a spacious, modern four bed roomed cottage, nestled in the idyllic, rugged coastal surroundings of White Strand Bay in Malin Head at the northern most tip of the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route. Inch Wildfowl Reserve is home to a fantastic walking loop around Inch Lake spanning 8km. The combination within this site of extensive feeding areas and safe resting and roosting sites makes this site one of the most important wetlands in the country for wintering waterfowl. It supports a wide diversity of wintering waterfowl, notably swans and geese, as well as gulls, waders and duck. Being on the western-most part of Europe it also attracts a fair share of unusual birds throughout the year.

North West Golf Club runs along the shores of Lough Swilly on the Wild Atlantic Way. Established as an 18 hole links course in 1891 it is one of the 9 founding members of the Golfing Union of Ireland. North West has several outstanding holes and overall will be both challenging and enjoyable to golfers of all handicaps.
The castle was built by the Norman lord, Richard de Burgo in 1305. His grandson, William succeeded to the Earldom in 1328 but became involved in a quarrel with his cousin Walter who belonged to the Connaught branch of the family. William imprisoned his cousin in a dungeon and starved him to death. This event is commemorated by a skeleton on the coat of arms of the City of Derry. After the Plantation, the castle was granted to Sir Arthur Chichester but subsequently fell into ruins.
